2016 Christmas Party

What a terrific end of year party we had.
Excellent presentation by Helen Molnar about the Rajah Quilt and the unfortunate convict women who helped make it, delicious food by Jason Leiper at JBL Catering and a trunk show of some of the quilts made by members from the Fabric of Society book by Dr Annette Gero.
Heaps of chatting, laughter and even a bit of stitching. Lovely to welcome some of our members from up Albury way and Carolyn Konig from Carolyn Konig Designs in Wodonga as a guest.

Helen Molnar giving us a talk on the history of the Rajah quilt.

Some stitching, laughs and good food

A trunk show of stunning quilts made by members, inspired by the book, The Fabric of Society by Dr Annette Gero.
If you can get your hands on a copy, its a beautiful book to have in your collection.
Don't forget our last event for the year is the combined Gathering at Kilmore Soldiers Memorial Hall on Wednesday 14th from 7pm.
(There will be no Tuesday day gathering for December)
All welcome!

Bonnie Hunter's Dancing Nine Quilt Workshop

What a productive day we all had at our wonderful Bonnie Hunter workshop.
We initially had Bonnie booked for a weekend workshop as she was set to tour Australia,  unfortunately her trip was cancelled.
But, not all was lost, we had our wonderful Kilmore Quilter Maryanne to take the workshop for the day.
Above is Maryanne's version of the Dancing Nine Pattern quilt.

This quilt is a great scrap buster , thanks for a wonderful day Maryanne.

For those of you who don't know of Bonnie Hunter, she is the master of scrap quilts !
Her blog is well worth a visit, lots of eye candy as well as free patterns.
