12 hours of sewing bliss!

The last Saturday of February was just wonderful.  We took part in our 2nd Super Saturday Sit'n'Sew session.  12 glorious hours of  friends, sewing and talking.  What more could a quilty person ask for?

There were so many different projects on the go.  Our tastes sure do vary, as do the projects we all work on.  Each one is simply amazing.

A has decided to get her "Hamilton Place" lone star quilt finished.  She was spending quite a bit of time making sure that the borders were beautifully mitred with the gorgeous border print fabric.  Some of her stars have fussy cutting, as you can see by the detailed shot of the central star.

A's sister, J, brought along a very interesting project, which she is hand piecing.  I didn't note down the name of the pattern, but am looking forward very much to seeing this once it is completed.

Another J has been sewing up her project left overs, aka scraps, into 0.5 x 3in finished pieces.  They are then being joined up to make a medallion, plain borders and then more little bitty pieces.  A fascinating project to be sure.

C was very busy with applique animals.  The cheeky looking Koala is just too cute!

Another A is slowly hand-piecing a block of the month sew-a-long.  Her fabrics are very pretty and delicate.

H was very busy working on kids quilts.  The one on the left is actually an eye-spy quilt and is the first of 2 that she put together.  The other quilt she started the day with was the fun dinosaurs made from some very funky fabrics.

Another C was busy quilting these gorgeous hexagon flowers.  So pretty.

And, lastly, we have W who was diligently hand appliqueing her Donwell Abbey quilt borders.

This is such a small snapshot of our amazing day.  We are looking forward very much to the next 12 hour sewing day on March 27.  Hopefully we will see you there.
