March Monthly Gatherings

March has seen some restrictions lifting and more Members attending our Gatherings.  We also had several new ladies join us to become Members.  This month's show'n'tell is amazing.  We shall start with Applique and work our way through it all.....

The two appliques, above, are so very cute.  They are going to be in a couple of fun quilts soon.

Below are two very pretty applique quilts, using very different techniques.

Some very cute hand embroidery with JMc translating a hand drawn elf into a stitchery and RD stitching a toadstool pincushion.

French knots into flower centres to being a new embroidery project by C in stunning, bright colours.

BH has been diligently working on her sashiko piece for a while now and it looks amazing.

One of the newest members, EMc, has embroidered, appliqued and had quilted her version of the Sue Spargo pattern - Folktales.  WOW! is the only word that comes to mind!!

Still in finishing mode, JG, has made a garden trellis quilt.  Soft, subtle and pretty.

Below - HSh was busy with binding.  She has made a grandchild's table mat, completed a very old UFO green table-runner and put together a Dr Seuss quilt top.

ML is hand-piecing apple-cores.  Love the light and dark colour choices.

JMc is hand-piecing octagonal flowers.  Each time she joins us there are different coloured flowers being stitched together.

One of our newer members, JS, is creating a very funky and modern looking hexagon quilt.

AdJ is making a Jen Kingwell pattern.

JG has had another finish, and this one's an absolute beauty!  It is the La Passacaligica quilt from one of the books by Willeyn Hammerstein.  Those "jewel" colours against the black background are amazing!

W is working on very, very pretty dresden plate circles with Liberty fabrics.

JG has been finishing all sorts of projects - cup of tea anyone?

And... to finish off all of the glorious March Show'n'Tell is this gorgeous (to me) classical blue and white winding ways by HSm.

July 2017 Gathering

Another wonderful gathering - with many members creating some incredible work - below is a snapshot of what some of our members have been working on.


M made a quilt with lots and lots and lots of house blocks, which are very cute when you look closely.  An incredibly wide variety of fabrics went into her blocks.

M also made this stunning colourwash quilt with left over odds and ends from other quilts she has made...

J is making a scarf with these stunning motifs

R is making up her applique blocks for a quilt border

A is getting to the point of putting her Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses quilt together.

The other A made 3 scarves and a beanie in one week!!  She really kicked goals and all three scarves were so lovely and soft to touch.  Lots of members were wanting to take them home!

Clamshells

D was very busy also - here is her table runner, a pattern from a magazine, we think it will be very lovely on her dining table.

D has also been plodding away with an Apple Core bed runner.  They measure 1in x 2in.

Now, the other J took an idea from pinterest to make this funky modern quilt which she is hand-quilting in perle thread.  Up close, for the 'whites' it is all fabric with writing on it.  Nothing dull or boring about this one - 

S was continuing her hand applique on a fun baby circus applique.

R says she's on her final crazy quilt block, which we have been watching the progress of over the past few months.  Her stitches are so delicate and beautiful.

? I don't remember who was making the quilt below - but it is quite stunning with the colour choies and panel in the centre.

The other J is continuing her La Passacaliga quilt.  There's lots of movement in the blue circle.  It will be very exciting when she has it all together.
